November meeting

The November meeting was a very pleasant afternoon of doing whatever we had all brought to do.  There were lots of different projects, most of them for the boxfile project. Some had even finished theirs!  I only had one photo and it must take pride of place to represent this month's meeting! (note to self: need to take more pictures!)
Ann's Tea Rooms
There was a table making dolls under the careful scrutiny of the tearoom lady :
Notice the mould to the left?
It turned into a younger version of this one!

Then there was flower making in 1/24th scale. I've been informed this will be a clematis montana to cover the front of a cottage!
Turning these...
Into these, with hunderds?? still to go...

Then there was this very cute cottage corner, with the most adorable lady owner with curlers in her hair!

It was brought in because the roof needs finishing...
Isn't it gorgeous?

Then there were furniture projects:
I was 15 minutes late and this is how far along it already was!
Excellent progress!

Lots of painting...

That must be a door for the shop box!

Some tinkering with jewellery findings:

Beads, findings, wire...

Candle holders...

A group were making robins for next months project:

So tiny!
Aren't they lovely?
Even flying ones!
Also made were other items, such as a beautiful hat, unfortunately the photo is not in focus. Could you bring it to the December meeting? Lucy was experimenting with a tiny bicycle of blue and black Fimo, but I promised not to put a photo on yet as she wasn't happy with the result. Who knows there may be one to photograph in December...

All in all a very enjoyable club afternoon!

October Meeting

Lucy led the October meeting  and it was a big success.
This is what we started with.
Lots of white and translucent Fimo and a bit of ochre and a speck of darker brown (it's hiding under some of the white Fimo).
Later we added rice flour to make the cut bread look more like bread and although you can't see it in the photos, it really works well.

We were making bread in several different shapes

Lucy's examples and plenty of baskets to choose from!

We used pastels to colour the bread

And these are our versions, just out of the oven and with a basket each to arrange the bread into, we all had a finished project to take home.

Everyone went home happy! Thanks Lucy!

September Meeting

Here are the photos of the September meeting. Most of us made a tudor chest, that will be stained/waxed next month.
Remember that you can click on the photos for a closer look,
and click on the upper right hand cross to go back to 'normal' size.

Half way?

Spot the finished chest:

We all have different ways of keeping things straight...

A bit of a problem?? then TEA is very important!

Some staining going on...
Nice miniature sash clamps..

Another set of sash clamps. Spot the hinges?

Nearly there,  just the hinges to go...
What's wrong with the cradle?
 Pure concentration!

Tom Birchmore made all the kits and kept us going at a steady pace...

We do fill up the Hall, there are usually about 20-24 of us
Never a quiet moment (not any of you in particular, but just listen for a while next time....)
Lucy kept us all on task!
Proudly presenting the end product, now just hinges and staining/waxing!

Another very enjoyable afternoon, thank you Lucy and Tom.
